Working Parties

September 2026
Some welcome rain has at last arrived. The hedge plants have survived the summer heat and drought well - many thanks to Richard Cain for watering regularly.

At the working party on Saturday 5th September, there was a regroup after the summer break. The group met at 10.00am at the Lower Queens Park Road entrance and a walk round The Meadows identified tasks which will need action over the coming months. At the same time a litter pick was carried out.

October 2026
The October working party will be on Saturday 10th October when we will continue with hedge planting.

Remembering Louisa Phyllis Brown

A completely revised video commemorating the life of Louisa Phyllis Brown has been created by Rachel Cross and uploaded to our own Friends of the Meadows Youtube channel.

May 2026 - Civic Reception: Britain in Bloom

Volunteers from the FOM Committee attended this event on 4th May, hosted by The Lord Mayor of Chester in the Town hall to thank staff and volunteers for their hard work in Chester Parks and Green Spaces. As well as The Meadows, volunteers from Grosvenor Park, Alexandra Park and Caldy Valley also attended.
