Tree Planting Working Parties A working party to plant trees on the riverside bund took place on Saturday 10th February 2024. Three rowan and three hawthorne Saplings have been purchased from Heathfield Nurseries which were planted, utilising the old tree guards.
2023 Annual General Meeting The 2023 Annual General Meeting took place on 24th November 2023 at St Mary's Centre, Handbridge. Thanks to those who turned out and supported us! Chester Heritage Festival - Walk on the Earl's Eye Meadows Monday 27th June 2022 at 5pm Led by Julie Savory of the Friends of the Meadows, the ¾ of a mile route followed along a footpath by the side of the River Dee and across parts of The Meadows. The footpath is mainly good: it is a bit rough in places and the stretch across the middle of the Meadows is not suitable for people with mobility restrictions: it can be muddy in places, calling for suitable footwear.
Public Events in 2022 The Deva Triathlon starting from Grosvenor Park has its run routes through the Meadows and took place on place on Sunday 12th June 2022 The Chester Raft Race took place on Sunday 3rdJuly 2021. The theme this year was "100 years of British Television" The Deva Divas Triathlon took place on on Sunday 10th July 2022 The Dee Mile took place on Saturday 6thAugust at 5:30pm.
